Privacy Policy

The short version

You upload a manuscript; we analyze it and generate a reviewer report. You choose at upload whether we keep your manuscript (Private mode) or never store it (Zero retention mode). We don't sell your data, we don't train models on your manuscript, and we never use your work for anything other than producing your review.

What we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, our auth provider shares your email address and display name with us. We never see or store passwords.
• Your manuscript. The PDF you upload and the text extracted from it, handled according to the privacy mode you choose (see below).
• Payment records. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We store your order history and credit balance; your card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers.
• Operational data. Standard request logs, rate-limit counters keyed to IP address, and an audit trail of actions on your account. Audit records contain who did what and when, but never your manuscript's title or content.

Your manuscript and privacy modes

You pick one of two modes when you upload a paper, and it governs that paper for life:

• Private. Your PDF is kept in protected storage, accessible only to you, so you can view it alongside your report. The extracted text is retained so findings can be anchored to exact passages.
• Zero retention. Your PDF is never written to storage. The extracted text exists only while your review is being generated and is purged immediately afterward; a background sweep verifies the deletion. Only the generated report and aggregate, non-identifying metrics survive.

In both modes, uploading alone stores at most the paper's header metadata (title, authors, abstract, section headings). Deleting a paper from your dashboard deletes its revisions, reviews, and any stored files with it.

Security

Every paper is private to its owner, and access is enforced so that no one else can reach your work. Your files are kept in protected storage and handled with multiple layers of safeguards. If you believe you've found a vulnerability, please contact us.

Retention and deletion

Papers stay until you delete them; deletion cascades to every revision, review, and stored file. Zero-retention manuscripts are purged automatically as described above. Order and credit records are retained as required for accounting. To delete your account and everything in it, contact us.

Your rights

You can access your papers and reports from your dashboard at any time, delete any paper yourself, and request a copy or full deletion of your data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights (e.g. under the GDPR or CCPA); we honor reasonable requests regardless of jurisdiction.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page as the product evolves and revise the date at the top. Material changes to how we handle manuscripts will be called out prominently, not buried.
